Letti donates his KoEE 2012 Prize money for KoEE 2013 Pool!

The German Extreme Enduro top gun Andreas “Letti” Lettenbichler (Husqvarna) just made a very generous move by putting all of his 2012 prize money into the KoEE 2013 Prize Pool!

When we wanted to transfer the 2012 money to him, he came back saying: “Kings of Extreme Enduro is a great concept and I am happy to support it. The KoEE Ranking really puts things into perspective – not only from the rider’s perspective but also for fans and sponsors – and the prize pool certainly helps. I didn’t have the best of luck in the 2012 season but I will go flat out in 2013 and am looking forward to race Hell’s Gate on my Husqvarna in February!”

Check out the 1st KoEE Prize Pool Ranking. We’re at €200+ already – let’s top 2012!

Kings of Extreme Enduro – Season 2013

After a really good initial KoEE season we’re happy to say that the main goals have been achieved:

  1. Giving the riders a transparent ranking + international visibility and awareness in the public.
  2. Building a KoEE Prize Pool to support the riders also on the financial side. In 2012 we collected €2,576.97 – a great result considering the fact that KoEE does not have any sponsors.

We’ve decided to build on this initial success and do the same thing in 2013:

  1. We’ll have the same KoEE Magic 7 races in the KoEE 2013 Ranking:Tough One, Hell’s Gate, Erzbergrodeo, Red Bull Romaniacs, Red Bull Sea to Sky, Extreme Lagares & Roof of Africa.
  2. We will use the same rules and ranking method as in 2012!
  3. We will open a new KoEE 2013 Prize Pool!

We’re waiting for the official Tough One results – as soon as we have those we’ll provide the first KoEE 2013 Ranking!

KoEE is a non-profit initiative with two primary objectives:

  1. Honor the heroes of Extreme Enduro – by creating a ranking and thus creating awareness and visibility for the riders!
  2. Putting on a Prize Pool that anybody can pay into and 100% of the money being paid out to the KoEE top 10 riders at the end of the season to support them directly.

Martin Freinademetz / RBR donating €700 to KoEE Prize Pool

We’re very excited to announce that Martin Freinademetz, the Red Bull Romaniacs and Red Bull Sea to Sky mastermind has added €700 to the KoEE Prize Pool. This is a super cool move from Martin – thanks in the name of all riders, especially the ones in the KoEE Ranking!

Martin about KoEE:  “There is no race without the riders and we believe the KoEE idea really supports the riders in a great way. The KoEE ranking gives the riders a broader awareness in the public and the prize pool can certainly help the riders to get to more races in 2013 since 100% of the money will be paid out by the KoEE at the end of 2012.

Furthermore the riders and the world of Extreme Enduro truly deserve and need a world championship and I support actions that help to get there one day – hopefully rather sooner than later.”

Guys, help to grow the KoEE Prize Pool, it’s still open until December 15th, 2012! How? Check the KoEE Donations page for all information. All you need is a PayPal account!

Update KoEE Ranking after Sea to Sky – Graham Jarvis is THE King of Extreme Enduro

Graham “Grimbo” Jarvis (Flite-Husaberg) won the Red Bull Sea to Sky yesterday in Kemer, Turkey – which is number 6 of the KoEE Magic 7 races. Check the updated KoEE Ranking. By adding another 20 points Graham has already secured the title:

Graham Jarvis is THE KING OF EXTREME ENDURO 2012!

Congratulations, this title is well deserved and the entire – and steadily growing – scene of Extreme Enduro admires the outstanding performance Graham has shown throughout the 2012 season.

We talked to Jonny Walker after Red Bull Sea to Sky. Jonny came in second and added enough points to secure the second place in the KoEE Ranking. Here’s the video:

Update KoEE Ranking after Extreme Lagares!

Lagares, Portugal, Oct. 8, 2012

Extreme Lagares in Portugal – once again a great event – is over and we’re looking at an updated KoEE Ranking! Graham Jarvis (UK, Flite-Husaberg) once again dominated and came in with a solid 29 minutes lead on Dougie Lampkin (UK, GASGAS) and 45 minutes on Alfredo Gomez (E, Husaberg).

In the KoEE Ranking Graham leads by 28 points now but Jonny Walker (UK, KTM) can get closer if he wins Red Bull Sea to Sky – which is coming next on Oct. 20&21 in Turkey. BUT, there is no guarantee for Grimbo – as we all know that “to finish first, first you have to finish” and there are two races and 40 points left for Jonny Walker to steal the crown.

Extreme Lagares: Paulo Melicia and his team once again have done an outstanding job in 2012 – especially considering the comparatively tiny budget they have to work with. The landscape around Lagares is beautiful and the terrain has been used to take the riders to their very limits.

Even Graham – who I have never heard complaining about a track before – was a bit destroyed after the race: “I’m really reliefed to get to the finish, it was a lot harder than I expected. I think that this is definitely one of the hardest in the world – if not the hardest. The challenge really was to get grip, you had to push the bike in a lot of places and there was no rest at all, it was a long lap we had to do twice. I drowned the bike in a river crossing and lost some minutes there. Dougie caught up but I was able to maintain pretty much the same speed so I was able to pull away. Now I’m looking forward to Red Bull Sea to Sky!”

Many riders – including Ben and Dan Hemingway – really struggled and for the Extreme Lagares 2013 edition it may be worth considering to find the right balance between making the event hard enough to reach the limit but still ridable (even for the top 15 KoEE riders!).
